Atlas is proud to sponsor Hull's 2023 Pride Prom, which will take place at the MKM Stadium on Friday 28th July.
Hull’s Pride Prom was started in 2019 by Step Out. They are a Hull based LGBTQ+ youth organisation, which provides a safe space for young people in the area who identify as LGBTQ+ to meet, be themselves, make friends and have fun!
Following feedback that a lot of the young people attending Step Out were not wishing to attend their school prom because they didn’t feel comfortable, Pride Prom was created.
With the help of local charities; Cornerhouse, The Warren and ERVAS, funding was raised for the first celebration.
The first Pride Prom was a huge success and received heaps of positive feedback. Young people who attended shared their delight in the evening, that it was great to ‘come as they are’ and feel accepted and safe.
Three years on, the Pride Prom is a highly anticipated annual event for the Step Out community, and we are so pleased to donate to this exceptional event!
